old memories
I have finally arived at my "home" for the next ??? months, so it's time to hit the ground and make some contacts. Many people believe that and infantry man has one skill and one skill only to offer the "outside world" but I have to disagree, you see I unlike many in the military have to scrounge for what I need whether it be a bike to travel from place to place on the fob, or making a friend in the construction yard in case I need a table or chairs. I think the point I'm trying to make is I will sell a ketchup popcicle to a woman in white gloves every day of the week just to keep my men supplied and happy, and truth be told after a while it's not work any longer, it's a hobby. I was walking to drop off my laundry today (which is give or take 2 miles) a it hit me... I was here in the first deployment, and things started to piece themselves together, not much has changed though. I want to describe the smell of certain things but I'm not sure it's possible, maybe Brad can explain it, he can recall the scent... I promise!! But I'm finally settling in and things are falling into routine so now I can start thinking of other issues to write about. I hope all is well and this finds you in good spirits...yeah some spirits sound good .

Good luck on finding a bicycle, since it sounds like you could really use one (two miles for laundry?!). Maybe you'll get enough reading material to trade for one. Hopefully you don't have to go that far for meals. Your regular postings are greatly appreciated and they make us feel as if you are not 'quite' so far away. We hope your dodgeball bruises are clearing up and you still have a few personal belongings left after the Texas Hold'em tourney. Stay sharp!
OK, we can't figure out if the ketchup popcicle is a hypothetical or actual barter. Please explain. Any Cinqo de Mayo food planned for the guys? ---Maybe lamb & rice enchiladas? I'll be sure to have a margarita in your honor. (No, seriously.) Keep yourself and your men covered. We know you will!
Let us know if there is anything that we can send to you to help with the "Bartering" I am glad that you are done moving for a few months. I hope your head is doing better and is shaded from the sun.
